Our Homeschool Plans : 2018-2019

A new school year is almost here!  Whoo hoo!  I said we would be the family who would school all summer long and I ordered special workbooks and all of that jazz – and do you know what?  We NEVER EVEN CRACKED A BOOK OPEN.  Not even a read a loud – which is basically unheard of.  And I dont think reading Little Blue Truck 50,000 times to the toddlers count. So here I am – dusting off the this...

Life Lately

Hello all!  Its been a while since Ive been in this space creating a decent blog post.  Life feels like it is going a million miles a minute sometimes and it has been hard to balance everything.  I just wanted to share a quick update for family and friends on the kids and life! Later this week our kitchen cabinets are coming down and we are finally going with open shelves!  I cant wait to see the kind of space...

The Wild Child Project

It was raining and I just had came inside from trying to snap photos of my kids running around barefoot in our back yard.  No coats, shoes, (or pants for the toddler) just feeling the wet, mushy leaves underfoot, hair dripping on their foreheads, the sound of rain drops dripping down around us, it was like we were in our own little world.  As I watched them experience these simple life pleasures I had an idea. I have been...

A Letter to my Daughters

To my daughters, Growing up in this big world can seem a bit scary.  There’s a lot of evil out there, but theres also a lot of light.  Where there are bad people, theres also a whole lot of good.  Look for the helpers and if you can, be one.  What goes around comes around so keep your slate clean.  Love BIG and deep.  Dont be afraid to love too hard or too much.  There is no such thing my...

New Years Day Hike (and all of my optimism for 2017)

This new year has left me feeling optimistic with change.  I have so much self work I want to explore this year and I hope to grow as mother, wife, friend, daughter, sister.  I sat down and wrote out my intentions and it felt good to see them all down on paper….I am positive with patience, grace, and a whole lot of self love I can grow into the woman I know I am suppose to be. On New Year...

SOLSTICE 2016

Winter’s Cloak This year I do not want the dark to leave me. I need its wrap of silent stillness, its cloak of long lasting embrace. Too much light has pulled me away from the chamber of gestation. Let the dawns come late, let the sunsets arrive early, let the evenings extend themselves while I lean into the abyss of my being. Let me lie in the cave of my soul, for too much light blinds me, steals the source...

ADVENT : WEEK 4

tHE FOURTH LIGHT OF ADVENT IT IS THE LIGHT OF MAN, THE LIGHT OF LOVE, THE LIGHT OF THOUGHT, TO GIVE AND UNDERSTAND. This week we honor humankind.  We talk about how we can bring our awareness to love for all, compassion for everyone, and gifts of selfless acts to those we encounter during the week (and how this can go around all year…not just this week).  We keep it simple at home.  Spend extra time together watching Christmas movies...
